The Marquis Antinori Chianti Riserva is a Red wine still wine with a Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) designation. Produced only in the best vintages from Sangiovese grapes (90%) and Cabernet Franc grapes (10%) carefully selected by both bunch and berry.
A wine with a long tradition that is produced only and exclusively in the Chianti territory of Tuscany. The vines are grown using the Guyot, spurred cordon and Tuscan bow method in soils with marly arenaceous, calcareous, not very clayey and sandy composition, located at an elevation not exceeding 700 meters.
Accomplice is a microclimate that allows the grapes to ripen slowly, thus determining the special chemical and organoleptic characteristics of this special Tuscan wine. The Marchese wine Antinori Chianti Reserve of the Antinori wineries takes shape from the grapes of the Tenuta Tignanello vineyards and is a quality wine product that is highly appreciated in the Bel Paese as well as abroad.
To produce this wine, vinification and aging take place separately inside Hungarian and French oak barrels. The grapes after being destemmed are softly crushed, then transferred inside stainless steel tanks, here the must undergoes the maceration process through delicate pumping over and déléstage, processes that allow the sweetness of the tannins to be maintained, after which alcoholic fermentation, racking, transfer to the barriques and bottling follow. After bottling it continues to mature in bottle for 1 year.

Tasting notes: deep ruby red color. Ripe red fruit notes on the nose combine with pleasant hints of vanilla and spices. On the palate it is enveloping, balanced, but also lively and deep with soft, silky tannins. A wine of character, with an excellent territorial identity, characterized by a long and persistent finish.
Pairings: excellent throughout a meal, it pairs perfectly with roasts, game and aged cheeses such as pecorino.

The vineyards of Tenuta Tignanello are composed mainly of native Sangiovese and non-traditional varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. |

Vinification | On arrival at the winery, the grapes were destemmed and then softly crushed; the must was transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place, which lasted about a week. Maceration was managed with very gentle pumping over and délestage so as to ensure intense extraction but at the same time preserving elegance and sweetness of the tannins. |
Aging | At the end of malolactic fermentation, which took off spontaneously by the end of the year, the blended wine continued its aging period in French and Hungarian oak barrels for about a year. Marchese Antinori was then bottled and aged in bottle for an additional 12 months. |
