Campo alle Comete
A world suspended between heaven and earth, in which to let go guided by bright stars, to walk in a wonderful reality, as if made of the stuff of dreams. Ancient scents, childlike images and an imaginative reality: already the name evokes everything, calling to mind a dimension in which flavors and aromas join the emotion of the vineyards. It is the company "Field to Comets", which in the heart of the territory of the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, with its sixteen hectares planted with vines, represents one of the most interesting and fascinating viticultural realities of the entire area of Bolgheri. Everything began on the basis of a well-defined project, in which tradition and experience were combined with poetry and imagination, so as to arrive at surprising wines such as others do not encounter. Tuscan stronghold of the winemaking group "Feudi di San Gregorio", the winery "Campo alle Comete" was born from the encounter between a well-established reality of the sector - precisely that of "Feudi di San Gregorio" - and one of the most prestigious territories of the Peninsula: that of Bolgheri. In the vineyard, the rows stretch out in the middle of the Livorno Maremma, and the vines are caressed by the enveloping breezes that blow from the Tyrrhenian Sea inland. Organized as if to form a sort of amphitheater, the plots enjoy a temperate climate that is particularly favorable to viticulture, and the vines, with an average density of 7 thousand vines per hectare, grow on balanced and rich soils, raised with full respect for the environment, nature and the ecosystem. Grapes of merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon e petit verdot, but also of syrah and of vermentino, are in the cellar processed by interpreting and enhancing what the season and the territory have been able to express in the fruit. Finally, aging in oak barrels and tonneaux completes the journey that leads to "Astonishment" in primis, the label that perhaps more than the others tells us all the unparalleled magic of "Campo alle Comete."
