"Gaun" was the name of the baron family that first owned the Löwengang estate, the heart of Lageder today, since the 1600s.
The cultivation of chardonnay in the Magré area has distant roots dating back to 1934 when Alois Lageder III bought the estate convinced that the soils were ideal for this, like others, international grape variety.
Chardonnay "Gaun" ages partly in wood and partly in steel for 9 months and is suitable for aging for a few years.
For those who, like us, love chardonnay's ability to envelop all the senses.
Tasting Notes.: In the glass it appears straw yellow in color with greenish highlights.
The nose reveals an intense bouquet is discreetly aromatic marked by fruity hints of apricot and mango. Almost buttery in its progression.
The sip is lively and at the same time soft, medium-bodied and broad in its aromatic component. The persistent finish is dry.
Pairings: Excellent Throughout the meal with fish as with shellfish and poultry But absolutely must try in combination with a pork loin.
