In Langa, in recent years, particular attention to Riesling. Loved a lot from the Piedmontese, it was already proposed by several companies and now also from Massolino that presents it for the first time in ride this year with the Stelvin cap, to preserve even more the varietal characteristics of the vine. The Riesling is cultivated by the company in the highest vineyard of Tenuta Massolino, in Monforte d'Alba, at about 600 meters above sea level, where the microclimate contributes to giving more freshness and acidity to wine. The rest of the wines range, as always, has declared a solid and territorial. Vintage 2015 was a radiant vintage, certainly, a little hottest and most dry in the summer that has given greater concentration to the bunches, giving more intense and deep wines with an immature of drinking attractive. All Barolo 2015 expressed themselves in these terms, vigorous and at the same time elegant, with a pinch of heat more than over the other years, to be chamfered over time. The Wine History of Massolino starts in 1896 with Giovanni Massolino, a tenacious and creative man who sent these character skills to the current owners and direct descendants, Franco and Roberto Massolino. They managed to enter the real ninetous renaissance of the nineties, through the restructuring of the cellar and the patronal house with the introduction of new enological and agronomic techniques, focusing on innovation but remaining linked to tradition because the philosophy of the massolino is Making wine with passion in its own territory of origin, preserving the typicality of the native vine. They firmly believe that between screws, territory and winemakers there is an indissoluble bond, made of cemented affinity among them.
