Artisti per Frescobaldi

   Artists for Frescobaldi
Artists for Frescobaldi is a biennial contemporary art prize created in 2012 by Tiziana Frescobaldi and curated by Ludovico Pratesi. It is a noble initiative that sees the continuation of the ancient vocation of the family, which since the Renaissance has been close to the greatest artists of every era. With each edition, three artists are involved, who create a special label for a limited edition. In this case, for the edition held in 2014, the winery's wine of choice was the Toscana Rosso IGT Montesodi made within the Castello di Nipozzano, the Frescobaldi family's most famous and historic property. This is a pure Sangiovese left to mature for about 18 months in 30-hectoliter French and Austrian oak barrels, which has a broad and aristocratic profile on the nose and palate. Yuri Ancarani, the only Italian artist selected for the 2014 edition, presents himself as a video artist and film-maker. Cinema and contemporary art merge in his works, in which the artist always enters in the first person.
