Inama
The Soave area is developed on the eastern side of Monti Lessini, in Veneto; we are in the cradle of white wines, from which are born the most interesting expressions of the whole regional production. This production area is certainly known for the great production in absolute terms of quantity. In fact, the vineyards extend for about 6500 hectares, mainly cultivated with garganega, a white grape variety that plays a primary role in Veneto, to say the least. The oldest area of all Soave, defined by the term "Classico," is the most prestigious, and is located in the hills of Soave and Monteforte d'Alpone, where the soils are purely volcanic. Then there is the part of Colli Scaligeri, which is a subzone of the appellation and extends over the more hilly area. It is precisely in these areas that we find the Inama winery, whose name is that of the family that, for more than fifty years, has produced wine as its sole activity. The winery, now arrived to the third generation, is very clear about what its business "vision" is: to produce "different" wines, whose only goal is to reflect the real perspective of the terroir of origin, outside of styles or trends that purely chase market fashions. This approach is of course also reflected in the vineyard and cellar, where nature is sovereign and wine is directly dependent on the quality of the ecosystem, of which the soil is the first fundamental element. However, there is no deliberate reference to terms such as "organic," "biodynamic," or "natural," which in themselves do not prove the goodness of the final product, but put the consumer in an unconsciously positive condition, perhaps too much so, toward a wine even before he or she has tasted it carefully. To date, a total of fifteen labels are produced, where the whites - above all the "Vin Soave," the "Carbonare" and the "Foscarino"- are the masters, but where the reds also have an interesting story to tell, especially with the "Carminium" and the "Campo del Lago."
