It comes to us from a natural amphitheater overlooking the sea of the Tuscan coast, giving us a unique sip that smells of sunshine, freedom and hope.
The "Gorgona” Red of Marchesi de' Frescobaldi is the son of the eponymous island of Gorgona, the smallest of those that make up the Tuscan Archipelago, located about twenty miles west of Livorno.
Tasting Notes.: deep the ruby red to the eye, with subtle garnet hues that increase with age. Hints of ripe small red berries open the entrance to the nose, later alternating with sweet spices and ethereal notes. The taste is masterfully organized between tannicity and freshness, proving pleasant, with good structure and long persistence.
Pairings: sf you choose it to accompany game, it is best tried with wild boar with juniper berries, but after a proper period of bottle aging you can also fully appreciate it simply as a meditation wine.
