Harvest with rigorous grape selection, spontaneous fermentation with maceration on the skins and aging in barriques for 15 months: that's it. The most absolute linearity, made of simple steps but at the same time followed to the letter, with scrupulousness, passion and dedication. This is what happens at the "Alois Lageder" winery, where the end result of all the effort is labels of the caliber of "Lindemburg," Lagrein from Alto Adige that you are likely to fall hopelessly in love with. A determined and assertive red on the one hand, then at the same time also elegant and refined. It is a gentlemanly Lagrein: it is a Lagrein "from another era."
Tasting Notes: To the glass it gives a beautiful ruby red, slightly garnet at the rim. Ripe and under spirits are the red fruit notes on the nose, followed then by spices and hints of dark chocolate and leather. Consistent in body, energetic but well worked in the tannic texture, with long persistence.
Pairings: Pair with game or red meat, it is excellent with venison tagliata.

More | The vine Lagrein has been known for more than six hundred years; on the Lindenburg farm the plantings were renewed in the 1950s. We chose to keep the pergola training form, which on the one hand provides more shade for the grapes and deep, sandy soils-very important in the summer months when Bolzano is one of the most torrid cities in Italy-and on the other hand characterizes the style of this wine. Its full-bodiedness does not detract from its fruity notes and elegance. The result is a wine with a clear and precise profile, and suitable for long aging. |
