Falanghina
The Falanghina vine, imported by the Greeks, derives its name from the "falanga" of the support poles on which the vine was tied: in fact Falanghina means "screw supported by poles". Spread over about 5% of the Italian vineyard area, the main production areas are: Sannio Beneventano, part of Casertano and Campi Flegrei. Falanghina is a grape at the base of other high quality Campania wines such as: the types of Solopaca, DOC Guardiolo, Sannio, Taburno and Sant'Agata dei Goti. The Falanghina vine is made up of a compact cluster, with a conical or cylindrical shape connected to medium-sized leaves with a trefoil, cuneiform or five-lobed shape. Of medium size, the berries have a spherical shape with a yellow-green and pruinose skin. Vinolog24 dedicates a particular section to Falanghina wine by offering bottles that stand out for their characteristic straw yellow color with greenish reflections. On the palate, on the other hand, it is velvety, fresh and with intense fruity aromas.
