It is no secret that the chardonnay grape variety has found in Friuli Venezia Giulia, and in the Colli Orientali in particular, a territory highly suited to its production. The resulting wines are quite elegant, played on the fragrance of the fruit and great drinkability. The interpretation of Sirch of chardonnay, vinified and aged in steel only, does not go off this track, and indeed stands out for a freshness that leads to the emergence of pleasant citrus components. We find at the sip a Chardonnay with a well-delineated character, satisfying and pleasant throughout. With hors d'oeuvres and with fish starters, it is a Chardonnay that one would never stop drinking.
Tasting Notes.: Intense straw yellow in color, with abundant golden reflections on the eye. The olfactory bouquet is rich and sensual, opened by memories of overripe and jammy apricots, then followed by hints of cream, baked pastries and vanilla. The taste is broad and round, elegant in acid shoulder and of excellent length.
Pairings: Excellent to uncork for aperitifs, the Chardonnay of Sirch also pairs well with fish-based pasta dishes. Try it with spaghetti alla bottarga.
