The Greco di Tufo by Feudi di San Gregorio was born in an ancient and beautiful region, Irpinia, where vineyards, woods, olive trees, fruit trees and herbs coexist in harmony. The Capaldo family's Greco vineyards are located in the town of Tufo, a municipality named after the volcanic rock of the same name and where in 1866 the existence of sulfur mines was discovered, the processing of which characterized the economy until after World War II. The grapes are harvested strictly by hand and vinified in steel, where the wine then rests about 4 months on its lees before bottling.
THE TASTING
Feudi di San Gregorio's Greco is a deep straw yellow in the glass; the nose is rich in aromatic herbs, fruit, mineral hints and fresh almond. In the mouth it has some structure, nice acidity and a savory, rewarding sip. If the intention is to enjoy it to the full, pair it with buffalo mozzarella, with tomatoes still warm from the garden, some good oil and a few basil leaves. Summer in your mouth.
