La Tenuta Guado al Tasso is located near Bolgheri, on the Tuscan coast, in the center of the so-called "Bolgheri amphitheater": soft hills surround a beautiful plain sloping down to the sea and creating a microclimate with unique characteristics.

It is here that, since 1990, one of the appellation's most famous wines, Guado al Tasso, has been produced. A red that takes its name from the animals that cross the fords of the waterways near the estate.

A unique red, capable of telling all the strength and softness of this strip of Maremma expressing a distinctly Mediterranean character made of power, elegance and balance.

Tasting Notes: by. ruby red color dark, it is a wine with a broad olfactory impact, with notes of mint, coffee, plum and spices that follow one another and blend in constant evolution. On the palate, the texture of the tannins is extraordinarily dense and silky. A deep and long wine of great elegance.

Pairings: throughout a meal, it goes well with rich meat-based main courses, braised meats in particular.

As with each harvest, individual vineyard plots were divided into many small harvest plots according to the weather pattern of thevintage, distinguishing them by grape characteristics and vinifying them separately. Fermentation and macerationtook place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 15-20 days.
Aging After racking operations, the wine was transferred directly into barrels, where, by the end of the year, took place the malolactic fermentation. In February, the best vinified plots were selected and blended. Guado al Tasso was then transferred back to barrel new French oak where it remained to age until bottling.
